Folowz - Trusted Medical Network

1. Who we are

Folowz ("we", "us", "our") operates the Folowz Trusted Medical Network at folowz.com and its associated services. We connect patients with verified doctors and provide clinic management tools. For questions about this policy, contact us at contact@folowz.com.

2. What data we collect

Patients

Name and phone number (required to join a doctor's queue)
Email address (optional, for appointment confirmations)
Appointment history (date, doctor, queue position, estimated time)

Doctors

Full name, email, and phone number
Medical specialty and consultation fee
Government-issued ID and medical licensing authority card (for verification only)
Profile photo (optional)
Clinic address and operating hours
Visit history used to calculate average consultation time

All users

Browser type, device type, and IP address (standard server logs)
Pages visited and actions taken on our platform

3. How we use your data

To manage queue positions and send appointment notifications
To verify doctor credentials against the relevant medical licensing authority in their jurisdiction
To calculate and display estimated wait times on doctor profiles
To operate and improve the Folowz platform
To communicate service updates and billing information (doctors only)

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use patient data for advertising.

4. Verification documents

Government-issued ID numbers and medical licensing authority documents submitted by doctors are used solely for identity verification. They are stored encrypted, accessible only to Folowz verification staff, and are not shared with any third party. Rejected applications have their documents deleted within 30 days.

5. Third-party services

Google Firebase — authentication and hosting. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Email delivery provider — appointment confirmation emails. No data is sold or used for marketing.

6. Data retention

Patient appointment records: retained for 2 years, then anonymized
Doctor profiles: retained while the account is active; deleted within 60 days of account closure on request
Verification documents: deleted within 30 days of rejection; retained for active verified doctors while the account is live

7. Your rights

Regardless of where you are located, you have the following rights over your personal data. These align with internationally recognised standards including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and we honour them for all users globally:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention obligations)
Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

8. Security

We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised Folowz staff on a need-to-know basis. We conduct regular security reviews of our systems.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services evolve. We will notify registered doctors of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Governing law

This policy is governed by internationally recognised data protection principles, with GDPR as the baseline standard applied to all users regardless of location. Where local law in your jurisdiction provides stronger protections, those protections apply. Any disputes arising from this policy that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to binding arbitration under internationally recognised rules, conducted in English.
